Web

Portfolio note

This portfolio is fully hand-coded, which is why it doesn’t follow the grid-gallery, white-background, monospaced-font look common with free Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress templates. Many of my peers ask, “Why spend the time when there’s a free option?” But as an Art Director, my view is simple: if you know how to do something, even outside your core specialty, I want to see it.

Most of my professional web design work was done in-house for one company, covering their corporate site as well as marketing and communication microsites.

Site Overhaul

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Corporate Website

When no-code editors were becoming standard, my ability to read and write markup was one of the main reasons I was hired. From the start, the top priority was a full redesign of Dolphin’s corporate site. The project needed three things:

  • Updated, modern aesthetic
  • Responsive design
  • Improved user experience

Case Study

Role

I was the only creative working alongside a software engineer to rebuild the site. I reviewed the old layout, studied competitor and related industry sites, and talked with sales and support teams about their biggest pain points. From that, I designed a UX that served both current users and new prospects.

Challenges

Concept & Approach

The new site launched in December 2015 in under 18 months. With only two of us managing it on top of other duties, we achieved all stated goals, came in ahead of schedule, and under budget.

Event Sites

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Dolphin Meeting

Before 2016, the Dolphin Meeting was a single page on the corporate site. Most details were still handled through printed materials. As the company invested more in digital channels, I proposed creating a standalone meeting site that could also serve as an app. The benefits were clear:

  • It matched the expectations of a younger, tech-savvy audience.
  • It became a new destination for marketing and promotion, building brand visibility.
  • It separated traffic from the main site, improving SEO and analytics.

Case Study

Role

This was my idea from the start. I led the creative direction, designing the architecture, UX/UI, and all digital assets.

Challenges

Concept & Approach

Each year, the meeting carried its own brand identity tied to its host city. I researched local culture, landmarks, and design cues so the promotional materials reflected each destination authentically.

The event sites quickly became some of the company’s strongest marketing tools, building energy and engagement year after year.

Microsites

Dolphin Imaging & Management Solutions: Marketing & Communications

At Dolphin, almost every campaign or product push relied on a microsite. They gave each initiative a face, whether it was new software features, customer updates, or marketing efforts. Because these sites were time-limited, most are no longer active. The two included here are projects I built remotely, which is why I still have the markup available.

The goals were usually the same:

  • Share product updates, event deliverables, or campaign content
  • Deliver critical information to customers quickly
  • Provide siloed environments for analytics and performance metrics

Case Study

Role

I handled all layout and UX for Dolphin’s web properties, building both branded and one-off destinations.

Challenges

Turnaround was often the biggest challenge. Urgent communication sites had to be live within hours. Campaign or conceptual sites had more room for planning but often required additional assets like explainers or infographics. Even so, most microsites were designed and launched in less than a day.

Concept & Approach

For urgent customer or communication sites, I used the CMS framework on a headless page, hand-coding the markup, CSS, and assets to move quickly.

For campaign, product promotion, or conceptual sites, I built more tailored experiences. These were developed in collaboration with stakeholders, with a focus on strategic content and consistent brand alignment. The result was microsites that were fast, functional, and always on-brand.
